Radio listeners are smarter than corporate radio program directors. Listeners have begun turning off their car radios and plugging in their mp3 players and mobile devices. Why? Radio listeners are too intelligent to be boxed in by the paltry playlists that program directors shove down their ears: the same rotation of classic rock, alternative rock, hip-hop, r&b and pop played over and over and over again, as though each genre only has a limited number of songs available for broadcasting.
